There are number of wonderful communities near downtown Cleveland that are not in the snow-belt.  There would be a number of other factors and preferences I could discuss with you to better determine what community would best fit your needs (schools, shopping, near medical facilities, taxes, etc.)

Anything east of downtown gets slammed with snow, so I would think west is where it is at.  Rocky River is nice.  Bay Village and Avon Lake too.  If you head south on Interstate 77, check out Breaksville and Richfield.
