Hi--Good credit is very important and will help to determine what kind of rate you get. You will need copies of recent tax returns, pay stubs and several other items. The most important thing you can do is talk to a good mortgage person who will tell you specifically what you need and work with you to make it happen. If you need a few good people to talk to--I would be happy to provide you with several. Hope that helps. Mary Ann Laurita, Prudential CT Realty

Good credit always helps, but several other factors are also taken into account. Mainly employment history and income, loan to value (equity in home), and liabilities. First step would be to apply with an experienced loan officer and see what type of challenges exist to refinancing your home. Hope this helps, good luck!
