Have you been out to Uncle Billy's at the Oasis yet. The shot is of the George Devore Band there last Friday night. Great show and the whole Oasis complex, while even still under construction, is absolutely an incredible site, and sight as well.
There's always something going on in this town. From SXSW to ACL Fest to Lonestar Rod and Kustom Roundup to the ROT Rally to the Capital of TX 10k to the Austin Triathlon to Halloween on Sixth Street. It goes on and on and on.
Well, the photo seems to have disappeared. Oh well.

What's not to like? For those interested in outdoors, the Highland Lakes, Zilker Park, hike-and-bike trail on Lady Bird Lake, mountain biking at Reimer's Ranch, Reveille Peak, Walnut Creek and Barton Springs/Greenbelt. Music everywhere you look, from Blues on the Green to SXSW to the new Moody Theater and clubs everywhere. Like to eat? Chefs getting top grades include Tyson Cole of Uchi/Uchiko, Shawn Cirkiel of Parkside, Bryce Gilmore of Odd Duck Farm to Trailer/Barley Swine and Aaron Franklin of Franklin Barbeque among many others.
Just a taste, as there is so much more to this great town.

I like to mountain bke on the Barton Springs Greenbelt. For less strenuous fun head downtown or to SoCo for entertainment, food and drinks.

Take photos of the poor quality of materials used in the building construction:

(People would never be allowed to use that kind of "scrap lumber" here).

(2) Tour the Bob Bullock Museum & watch an IMAX movie.
(3) Swim / Hang out at Deep Eddy, Barton Springs, Zilker Park, Town Lake.
(4) Climb Mt Bonnell.
(5) See a sporting event (Round Rock Express, Texas Stars, UT, High School, etc).
(6) Go to & hike / camp at Enchanted Rock.
(7) Go to Fredericksburg and/or the Wineries in Fredericksburg.
(8) Go to 6th St and the Warehouse district (Bars, pubs, restaurants, people watching).
(9) South Congress / SoCo (Bars, pubs, restaurants, people watching).
(10) Go eat in one or many of the gourmet food trucks / trailers around Austin.

Thanks Tom that's a great list! Really kind of a catch-all of Austin!
