Great SEO is expensive - because the people that know what they are doing are already making good money. The people who are hounding you for business are the ones who are likely to take your money and provide minimal value in return. And nothing is ever guaranteed when it comes to SEO. Anyone that tells you otherwise is lying.

here's the thing- yahoo, zillow, trulia and realtor.com have the first few placements on any real estate search. If you aren't in the top 5, you get about as much activity as in the 15-30th position. Your money is better spent partnering with the big guys that already dominate SEO. Get your contact information where people are already looking at homes, linking back to your site for more info about you is more productive than driving people to your site. Participate in blogs and forums - that gets your name up there so if people see you and decide to google your name they get good results. You can throw away a lot of money on efforts that bring you traffic but not buyers. Your content (mine stinks right now...been putting off doing anything about it) matters a lot- that is what turns a visitor into a contact (which then becomes a shopper and then a seller or a buyer)

I use WordPress for both my sites, here and here..Its great, Once you set it up, get a free SEO plug-in, like Wordpress SEO for your site to be crawled properly by Google and Yahoo.
This site here has a premium Wordpresss template by Studiopress, which also make a great one just for real estate agents.
Save yourself money and DONT use a SEO company, only a nice WordPress site which is in itself very SEO friendly.
