What is happening with Hudson crime trends?

Is it just my perception, or is there a large increase in petty crime, vandalism and so on?

According to this site, Hudson is pretty bad.  They claim crime rate is in highest 14% of US Cities. I have to admit that this surprises me.  I did not think it was that bad.

For an accurate answer, why not contact the local police department.

yeah, things do seem to get worse each year - in Port Richey even leaving your car on the street when going to a restaurant is bit dicey

between the gangs, the idle teens and the crazy adults - the foreclosures are making houses worthless and that pushes some folks over the edge - i'm nervous just visiting my old-coot friends in Hudson

but keep things in perspective - regarding crime, the worst area of Pasco county is better than the best area of Tampa!

IMO, Hudson is two separate communities.  There are a few islands of developments that attract retires in the middle of the socio-economic spectrum, and they are surrounded by a sea of poverty and envy.  This mix results in the 'have-nots' feeling resentment and occasionally acting out against the 'haves'.
