What is the best facing of a house in Dallas

The house I like faces east with the master bedroom, 1 bedroom, formal living and dining in front.
Pool and backyard facing west. All windows facing west have sun shields.
Is it a good buy from the perspective of orientation?

North is best in Texas, West works fine as well.

It depends on what you think is best....

Some cultures like EAST facing....some like WEST facing...
For energy efficiency...typically in Texas you want west facing with minimal windows or smallest windows on WEST and SOUTH....back facing EAST or NORTH with more windows.....ie..light in the morning...shade in afternoon.

I have had one customer with a pool with no shade that was on West side of house, and he sold and moved as pool was too hot and reversed directions with pool and afternoon house shade on the east side...front to the West.

You will get the sun on the pool in the evenings, its about your preference, Ive had some clients not want a west facing backyard because of the afternoon sun/heat, but if there is a covered patio or large trees providing shade it is usually quickly forgotten, have you asked you agents opinion?
