I personally don't see a downside, all you're doing is giving your home exposure. If you aren't planning to FSBO though, I would recommend meeting and working with a realtor as soon as you can so that you don't end up getting interest on the property and having to scramble to find an agent.
With that being said, it has never been more true with so much inventory on the market that to FSBO is like finding a needle in a hay stack.
Good luck.
Most homes are simply not going to sell on craigslist. And, most owners wildly over price their own homes...
that being said, who knows, maybe you get lucky. Find a good RE attorney, or an agent you trust and can negotiate a reasonable rate to help with contracts etc.

Well, placing your listing on Craigslist without sellers representation is a little like jumping into the deep end of the pool without knowing how to swim. If you don't know what your doing, chances are you're going to drown.
What if you get an offer? Are you going to rely on the buyers agent? Will agents even show your property without any proof that they will be paid for their work. (I don't work for free, I hope other agents don't work for free too).
There is historical proof that homes that are listed by a real estate agent sell for more money and more quickly than FSBO homes, which helps to defray to cost of paying an agent.
Either way, good luck.

I don't see one unless your house info on craigslist is different than you agents eventually. Think like an agent, post pretty photos and give it a try. I don't really see a down side. If you do it, pull the listing off craiglist a few weeks before you actually list so the house looks fresher to the market.

What is the down side of putting my home for sale on Craig's list, before I sign with a realtor?
