There are some companies that will offer "ala carte" services. You will pay a fee for MLS, they will rent you signage and you can even hire a realtor to host an open house. Unfortunately, the seller has to pay up front and the house may never sell. Remember, you only pay a realtor when the house gets sold. The quickest and less expensive way to sell your house is to contact a local realtor, they can have it on MLS within a few days, they will take care of the marketing and handle all of the showings and open houses.
Good Luck!

Although there are many companies that will charge you a flat fee just to post your home in the MLS, that is not the only way to market your property. In the long run, many homeowners have paid that flat fee, only to later list with an agent anyway.
You need a Realtor that will show you what type of internet and print marketing they will do for you to get your home sold and get thru inspections, contingencies and other complicated parts of the transaction. If you need someone in your local area that is top notch, please send me an email and I will do the research for you.

Flat fee agent is the quickest and cheapest and the advantage is that the vast majority of homes are sold through exposure on the mls.

Are you an agent who works in a non MLS office or a home owner looking to sell?

In order to get a property into the MLS and get a MLS number you have to have an agent. If you are not wanting to go the traditional route, you will need to find a flat fee company. Just remember that there is a difference in the amount of service that you are getting from your agent.

An MLS number is the result of a home being listed by a real estate agency. A homeowner lists their home with an agency by signing a listing agreement. The listing agent enters the data in to the local MLS, where a number is assigned, for use by the public and other agencies. Anyone looking for a home can search the MLS (Multiple Listing Service) and find the specific property they need. The "least expensive" part of your question is hard to answer. In the listing agreement signed, the home seller specifies the amount of real estate commision to be paid to the agency taking the listing. That amount is negotiable and is determined at the time of listing.
I hope this helps you. If needed, please contact me for a more specific answer.

Lucky,
Do you just want an MLS number or do you need to sell your home? There are a number of brokerages which offer flat MLS fees of $250-$350 but remember; you get what you pay for! Just GOOGLE them and write a check but don't expect to sell.
If you NEED to sell, you may have a 90 day window of opportunity to get your best price during this current "Foreclosure Crisis"? BUT, you will NEED a "Full Service" broker who knows what they are doing and how to SELL in this market. Also, it will cost you more than $350 but you just may SELL for the highest possible price!
If you just want to LIST your home and see what happens, please reconsider:
There are MANY people who MUST sell and they are being "injured" by an excess inventory of "distressed" homes and "discretionary" sellers.
If you would like more information about this "90 day Window", please don't hesitate to reply.
Respectfully,
Jim

What is the quickest and least expensive way to get a MLS number? What are the advantages?
