In order to find an estimated value of your home, a competitive market analysis (CMA) should be done on your property. You could very well do this yourself through use of sites like this one, or ask a Realtor who knows your area and market to do this for you. This is typically a complimentary service many Realtors offer.

Ultimately, you home is worth what someone is willing pay for it.. but to get an idea of what that might be, a CMA is your best course.

Good luck.

The actual "Value" of your home at any given time is what a Buyer is willing to pay for it.  So the most accurate gauge would be to look at comparable homes in your neighborhood that have sold.  That will tell you what a Buyer is willing to pay for your home.  Also, keep in mind that in many parts of the country we are in a "Declining Market" which means that if it wasn't a recent comparable (in the last 90 days) the value has actually gone down from there.

Hi TheWill-

The Zestimate we have for your claimed home is $239,500. However, please note that the Zestimate is not the actual price and also not an appraisal. It is just a starting point in figuring out the true value of a house.

We do not offer the Zestimate as the basis of any specific real-estate-related financial transaction. It is still best if you will get an official appraisal that will include the specific improvements you made for your property.

If you do not agree with the Zestimate of your home, we offer a tool called "My Estimator". This allows you to adjust your home estimate according to specifics about a home. Just click on "create estimate" under owner tools.

For more information about Zestimates, you may refer to this thread: http://www.zillow.com/forum/site/ViewThread.htm?tid=891
