When will the value of my home be changed?

Profile picture for suelay
I want to list my home, but the estimated value is much lower than it should be due to inaccurate info in the past and lack of information about updating the home. It doesn't make sense to list with such a low estimate.

I see this is an old question and hope your home has already sold for well above market value.  A licensed Realtor familiar within your market is always the best first step when ready to list.  Although I subscribe to Zillow and support many of its features the estimates will show huge swings in accuracy.  A comparative market analysis, local knowledge, and a ready & willing buyer will help determine value in today's market.

If there are factual errors with your home that you've updated, it usually takes 2 to 8 weeks to see the changes in the Zestimate.  As you did it today, hopefully by the beginning to middle of June changes will occur.

Please be aware that the Zestimate is only taking core facts into consideration, so increases in room numbers and square footage are likely to be reflected in a higher Zestimate.   Upgrades, even the spiffiest kitchen and solid gold faucets, will not be reflected in the Zestimate.

A Zestimate is not an appraisal, or a fair market value.  It is a starting place for comparison of houses.
