I noticed yesterday on the home Q&A that the Avatars were fixed at 40x30 pixels, which substantually squished many.
I think they realized they had a problem for their attempted "fix" for the "super tall" avatars, thus they took them out while trying to adjust their revision.
So, it is my fault, for using a 40x200 avatar, making them want to correct it; but their attempted solution did not work. I think I told them how to fix it 3 months ago, so it is surprising they are trying a defective method now.
Darn you Pasa, LOL! They shut us down last night and this is what we get, bad Zillow, bad, bad Zillow...

And after it took me so long to figure out how to put one in. (sigh) Oh well, I guess we'll get used to it. (sniff).

The avatar references actually still show up on the page source code. Their revision was not to the discussion pages, but to the algorithm for adjusting the size of images with the
?size=
reference.
They are still using ?size=40,0 for the avatars on the discussion page, but now the "0" is being interpreted literally instead of as "whatever is needed".
Similarly for the references on the home Q&A, they still are using ?size=40,30 as before, but previously that meant to use the more confining limit and scale uniformly; now they no longer preserve aspect ratio...
I think that is the key to fixing their problem; in the revision, they removed the reverence to maintaining aspect ratio for their photo-resizing software. If they will just put that back, the avatars should be fine again.
still not back

It is strange that for images inserted, the ?size-250,300 still seems to be working correctly.
But then for more recently inserted images, it appears the size statment is not used.
Obviously their programers were not in over the weekend to fix anything. Perhaps it will be working again sometime this week?
(May have to flag a post to get anyone from Zillow to read the issue, otherwise they will probably ignore it).
Where have all the avatars gone?
Long time passing
Where have all the avatars gone?
Long time ago

Is anyone having trouble posting new topics?

I had trouble posting a new topic a few days ago, but I figured out it was because my post was too long so I broke it up into two parts.

Where'd The Avatars Go?
Anybody else notice that the avatars are no longer visible when you go into a specific thread?
Or is it just me?
