I specialize in the Northglenn/Thornton area.  (And I lived there for the last 12 years).

Northglenn is an older community, with most of the homes originally built in the 1950's and 1960's.  Prices range from around $100k for an 800sq foot fixer-upper built in the 1950s, to around $230k for some of the larger, more updated homes there.   However, $185k can actually buy a nicely updated home in good shape, with a finished basement there.

Northglenn is unique in the fact that it is essentially surrounded by a larger suburb, called Thornton.  Thornton has much newer homes, built from the 1970's- to the present.  Homes in Thornton will start around $165 up to  $450k+, but it is still one of the best real estate buys in the north Denver area.  It has direct access to I-25, and is still only 20 minutes from downtown. It ends up being a popular choice for many first time home-buyers, because the bang-for-the-buck is so much better here than in the more central parts of Denver or the suburbs on the west side of I-25.  Once you cross over to the west side of I-25, you are on the mountains side of the highway.   Newer homes on the west side of I-25, can easily fetch 20%-40% more than an identical house just east of I-25... simply for the psychological perception of being closer to the mountains.
