I have placed a very useful on one of our websites:
[promotional hotlink removed by Zillow moderator]
It will pull up a form into which you enter an address you are interested in or an address that is within the area you want info on.. The software will generate a very detailed report with solds and ask prices in the area

It depends. In my city the only record of sale price is on the MLS, assuming it was a listed property.
Our Country Clerk only records the deed and mortgage amount.
Our Central Appraisal Department only records the name change in ownership and date of transfer, then guesses at value.
If you ask a Realtor to do a market analysis you could ask them to be sure to include your list of sold properties and the Realtor should be able to include those houses along with the sales price.

Preacher,
Zillow. The site truly provides all the info necessary to quickly educate a first time buyer.
Or a trusted Realtor would gladly help. Ask friends or neighbors for any one they can refer you to.

Zillow is a good source. Ask the owners or the neighbors...

If you can't find them on Zillow, you can call an area agent to send you a list.

Try your county government site. Some counties do not have it online but many do.
Where can I find prices homes sold for?
