www.portlandmaps.com is a great resource for homes in Portland.  You could also check out www.cyberhomes.com for homes outside of Portland, as well as homes in Portland.  These are great public resources available that are quick and easy to navigate. As a Real Estate Broker in Portland, I use both of the above site, and I also have access to tax records through our local MLS, as well as other public records.

I am speaking from knowledge of Massachusetts, but I know that our registries are online and you could look there and get everything you need to know about the property.  This could be a taxing process with a lot of information to look through, an easier way would be to contact a local broker who has that information at his fingertips through their local MLS public records section.

The local tax office in your area will have the sales information. A local Realtor who specializes in Buyer Brokering can also give you this information and would be a good resource to have on your side.

www.PortlandMaps.com

Is a great resource run by The City of Portland. You will mainly find Multnomah County but sometimes you get lucky with Washington & Clackamas County.

Once you've typed in the address click on the "Assessor" section. You will find the deed history (sales) as well as the tax history.

The site also has a vast amount of additional information on and around a home, so you might want to spend some time on the site.

Best of luck,

Elena
