We put our house on the market FSBO with a flat fee listing service that listed it on the MLS.  They provided the sign.  You can check out Home Depot or Lowes - they may have signs?

You should conduct a search on zillow and choose an agent with a marketing plan that gets you results. There is a lot to be aware of selling a property on your own.

I recently found a new sign that uses QR code and/or sending a text message to send someone directly to the online listing for the property.[Hotlink removed by Zillow moderator. Please see our Good Neighbor Policy.]

I like the product as it allows me to get all the details of the place right on my phone.

The success rate of FSBO's depends on the local market, the condition of the property and the price they are asking.

In my market FSBO's used to be plentiful.  Not any more.  There are so many decent homes in foreclosure FSBO's no longer get the traffic they used to see.

Buyers used to ask to see FSBO's - now they ask about foreclosures.

That's my market.  Every market is different.

I would really like to hear what this outrageous claim is based on?
"as only 3% of home sell by owner" LOL

Check out your local office stores like Staples and Office depot! Do not overpay get one pre made as only 3% of home sell by owner and you may change your mind and be glad you did not waste the money. Spend the money on internet marketing and getting the word out.

custom signs are really pretty cheap- contact a local sign shop and check prices, you'd be suprised how good they are- sometimes they even buy back signs from others and resale them at a discount.

.  also...lowe's and home depot and other such stores have them.

Keep in mind that if you are getting on the MLS, it's against most, if not all, MLS' rules to use a non-REALTOR® sign. Mckylie did the proper thing by using the provided sign as it was still a REALTOR® represented company's sign.

What I'm saying in a long drawn out way is, if you plan on possibly going with a MLS entry only company later on, don't be spending the big bucks on a custom FSBO sign now. However, don't use that junk from HD, or Lowes. You should be able to get a nice enough custom one at a sign shop for around 5. When I had mine made up, it was actually under 0.

BTW, you might be interested in this as well. Good luck.

If you want to go a different route, try http://www.epropertysites.com/.

I am not clear that you have to be a Realtor to use the site, but it allows you to create a website, signage, post to Craigslist etc.

Good Luck!

Lowe's and Home Depot have signs, but if you want something really different visit KINKO's or OfficeMax, etc they can make a sign from your own design.  Good luck!
