Where is the Detroit-Area Market these days? Lakefront (White Lake) vs. in-town (Clawson)?

Hello -
I have an acre of All-Sports Lakefront property in White Lake Twp., MI that I need to either sell or build/renovate on this year.  My primary residence is in Clawson.  I have seen homes sitting on the market around the lake that I am on for some time now.  What is the Detroit area market like nowadays?

Thanks much in advance, and Happy New Year!

- Bill

Hi Bill,
Current inventory in Oakland County is down from last year. Prices have stabilized some. My recent listing in Waterford (a waterfront home) was on the market for five months before we received a decent offer. Rentals seem to be going stronger than sales.

Before you put a lot of money in building or renovations, search local listings to see what similar properties are listed and selling for. I can e-mail a great search link to you that will allow you to search waterfront properties only. Contact me and I will send the link to you.

Happy New Year !!!
