It would depend upon which property you are referring to. Most times when you see the last sold price as $1 that's because it was refinanced or sold not at arms length (family, friends or for non money items). A value is required for that data field. Obviously it's valued at more than $1.00 they enter that so that there should be less confusion when it comes to later evaluations or comparisons. There are a few government programs that sell properties for $1.00 when used for public good or development an example of this might be a large mill property sold by the state/federal or local government to a developer where major investment will be required in hopes for later property development to highest and best use.Hope that helps,
