Wayne.
99% of the Zillow polls are to geared to extract free polling data to help realtors.

Wayne,
I thought you knew that I decide the correct answer. . . . . . . . . . . :-)
I would imagine that the person who writes the poll, comes up with the answers and their 'correctness'. It may just be a simple default- there is no 'correct' answer, but Zillow makes you pick one...

That's a good question, maybe we should take a poll...................

Seriously, I never knew such existed. The correct answer is wrong.
Don't you guys know that "Realtors" belong to the National Association of Realtors and subscribe to a strict code of ethics??? ;)
they're the best!!!
lol Jenn.......
Ive neen a poll like this on Zillow several times
Q: Who is to blame for the housing crisis ?
A - the hated vile mortgage brokers?
B - homeowners buying too much ?
C - Lenders, appraisers, the guv ?
D - everyone in the universe EXCEPT our beloved real estate agents !!! - correct answer

Yea, I thought the person submitting the poll got to choose a correct answer IF there was one. Some don't have a "Correct Answer" based ont actual wording, but are just choices.
Jenn, "code of ethics" is like "rules" --- made to be broken , at least by a few in every profession.
Wayne- I do know that.
I checked it out, and the author of the poll does choose IF there is a correct answer, and which answer that is. Interesting.

As for the Zillow Polls, I have seen many that pertain to the mortgage side also.

Tammy, do you remember if any of the mortgage polls had "correct answer" listed and if so did they seem out of place?
I remember a building / remodel type that had a correct choice listed once. That one also seemed like a personal choice and not a right/wrong thing.

I've actually suggested a poll. Here is how it works:
You suggest the question, give the options and give the answer:
Do you like mortgage brokers:
A) yes
B) no
C) maybe
D) only if I have to
I decide the correct answer.
Simple as that.

Look to the right, under the Zillow Poll, it has two links: next poll and suggest a poll. Click the suggest a poll and follow the above steps.
Not all will have a correct answer, some of them are just questions that people want to know how other people lean. No right no wrong

Tams,
AA had a poll.. I have taken them.. I think if you wanted to gauge the audience for something, it can help... However, I have seen MTG, RE and Credit Patching Companies with "CORRECT" polls that are not really correct, but a little self-serving. You could however get and use some good data to help with marketing or understanding the market in general. It's all good.

I think all the polls should have "write-in" options, which then show up as comments following the percentages. So many polls leave no room for any answers beyond what the questioner is expecting.
Here's a case in point, with the questioner's name left out:
Should realtors be regulated by the federal government?
Yes, with substantial fines for violations
Yes, with a full criminal background check
What if I *don't* want the Feds involved?

Then you would be a Libertarian.

Who decides the correct answers?
After replying, I've noticed a few Zillow Polls include a "correct answer" highlight in addition to the "your answer" response.
It seems obvious on some polls that the "correct answer" is biased.
Example: Q: Do you check your agents credentials?
A: No (Your answer) 18%
Yes 32%
I only use a realtor! (Correct answer) 40%
I never use my own agent, just the one on the sign in the yard. 8%
New Poll Question: Was the above poll written by a Realtor?
