If it makes you feel any better - the house I just sold was valued by Zillow at almost $100k over the appraised value, the assessed value, and the price it just sold for!
I don't think any one site has the set in propertystone value...the person who sets the value is the buyer who buys a property at a price the Seller is willing to sell for, and it actually closes...until then, it is just purely speculation.
Best of Luck!

Keep us posted on how the "legal action" is going. I'm afraid your main problem is going to be that the "value" of your home is not a piece of private info., and it will always be determined by some other entity's opinion. There is no absolute correct assessment of the value of any home, anywhere. An entity saying that they think your home is worth X, is not slanderous, libelous, or otherwise illegal. The opinion may be wrong and misleading but that doesn't make it illegal to have. If it were illegal to have, and express, opinions we'd all be in need of legal representation.

Zillow is a media company giving an editorial opinion of value. That right is protected under the 1st amendment of the constitution, Zillow is part of the press.
There is no shortage of editorial opinions that have been disliked by groups, or individuals that included a value estimate of some kind in the past 200 odd years. Why should this one be different?

If you are having problems with a free AVM site, perhaps some of these others will make you happier.

Hi Foxred.
I am just an agent in Philly, but I have expressed my views that it is impossible to determine a value on a property in our city.
If you are in the burbs in a development where all the places are the same, it is easy.
But, homes on your block (I am sure) are completely different.
I feel for you. But, this site really does not tell anyone any information that is needed when buying a home or refinancing because a real appraisal is done by a lender for a buyer or refinance borrow.
Hang in there and let me know if I can help!
Fred

Who the hell do you think you are? You place absurd values on a home and cannot be held accountable.
