Thanks so much for taking the time to respond Amanda. I'll check it out using your suggestions. I'll also be very interested when the next county (Montgomery) assessment is sent out.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Yes, it doesn't make sense when you see similar properties listed at different values. However the zestimates obtained here are derived from different sources.
You can contact a local Realtor(R) that can help you obtain comparables for your properties. Then you can take this information to the Harris County Appraisal District if you wanted to dispute the appraisal value of your properties. The HCAD value is what determines how much property taxes you pay for the year.
Good luck.

Thank you Jane. I'm interested for tax purposes because I'm one of the homeowners and both properties are contiguous as well. The "Zestimate" seemed way out of line to me.

I'm not sure what you are looking at on Zillow, but you really have to take what is posted here with a grain of salt. Everything they publish are "estimates", and you really should use a realtor to pull honest and accurate numbers. Many times these websites are at the mercy of information they are fed from several sources which can skew the numbers tremendously. We have access to more up to date information and use verified sources such as www.har.com which is the one regulated association that most realtors use in the Houston area.
