Why a Home Addition should not look like an "addition"

When adding living space to your existing home, proper design, material selection and execution allow your new addition to complement the original structure. Inadequate planning and design can result in an addition that looks "attached" rather than integrated. We recently completed this limestone patio and outdoor fireplace - which introduces an entirely new type of living space that flows as if part of the original design.

    While I agree with Don, in some cases it is not possible to build an addition that looks exactly like the house. It happens, for example, when working with older homes build of stone. While it is impossible to match the original stone, there are ways to build an addition that looks well "integrated"

    Sometimes people think they can do it themselves.  Epic Fail!!!  If the renovator is unsure and has to do research then they should more than likely hire a licensed professional
