Much of Zillow's data comes from tax records and tax records are horribly inaccurate - for example, they rarely note finished basements.

There may be several reasons, the first being what the other agents are stating that the county tax records are extremely inaccurate, the second bening the listing agent may not have measured properly (If even at all). But I also agree with the others as well.. a 2 story may only show the above ground finished area.

Why are most newer homes in Blaine, Mn. listed with the square footage too low?
