Why are taxes listed with rental homes? Are renters also responsible for the yearly taxes?

Renters are only responsible for real estate taxes when leasing commercial property according to standard practice.

I have never seen a residential lease include taxes, but ALWAYS read your lease before signing.

Renters are generally not responsible for yearly taxes, it might be part of the mls system asking for that information. Just make sure when you sign your renters contract that it isnt included....ok?

good luck to you

Hi JNorton571,

For Buffalo New York Rentals, typically renters are not responsible for yearly taxes. That's typically the owner/landlord's responsibility along with sanitation, water and insurance. That's in most cases, however, like Mr. Perz wrote below, it does depend on the agreement.

Not generally but it depends on the lease agreement.
