Why did you change your format?

Why did you change your format? I just have this little area now to search at the bottom of my screen, and the pics are so small I can't even tell if I even want to look. Also, when you made the change, a lot of the photos dropped off, I have no idea why.Is there any way to remove the map temporarily and  have a bugger space to search? You WERE my favorite place to search!
