A few properties I've been looking at disappear from time to time. Other sites still list them for sale. why is that?

It could also be the listings were listed on Zillow using Postlets.com And their site requires the listing to be renewed periodically or it will drop off Zillow and the other sites where postlets.com is the third party listing provider.

When properties are sold or go pending, it takes time for them to be taken down from all syndicated sites.  Zillow is still slow at that too, but tries hard to get the most current information from the syndicating sites that it can.

The county records home details page should still be on the site though, so you can type in the address to get to that page.

It takes about 6 weeks on average for the county records "sold" data to show up on the site from the data providers.

If it was taken off the market, that should show up in the "price history" on the home details page.

If there are duplicate home details page for the same address, Zillow tries to remove those as quickly as possible when someone flags the redundancy.

For regular clean-up of duplicate entries and fake/false entries, Zillow occasionally purges an area of home details pages and creates them fresh from the data provider records.
