Why does Zillow use comparable houses, when I'm selling 4-plexes (4 unit buildings)?

Why does Zillow use comparable houses, when I'm selling 4-plexes (4 unit buildings)? Can Zillow see the number of bedrooms, bathrooms & sq footage I've entered?  These aren't even close to being comparable, even if I was selling a home this large?  Is it you're not set up for Multi-family?  I'm I in the wrong place in Zillow? Locations are in Kent & Everett, WA

Zillow isn't equipped to do multiple unit or commercial properties - excepting coop and condominium buildings where each unit has a separate identity (tax number, etc),

Hi Shorty,

Are you referring to the "See similar homes" section on the right side of the page for your listings? I just did a quick check and it looks like we are pulling quite a few multi-family listings for display. Of course, we also use other metrics such as the listing price and location to populate those similar homes.

When it comes to looking at comparables for multi-family homes you should consult with a realtor who has multi-family property experience. That is the only way to get an accurate idea of property value for this type of home.  I own some multi-family properties and have experience with buying, selling and renting them.  Please contact me for more information it would be my pleasure to help you.
