Why does a toilet form an extraordinary amount of condensation on the outside and is it problematic?

This is a classic toilet problem.  Not really a problem with a solution, well not a solution most homeowners will live with.  Basically this occurs when there a two temperatures with drastic variations in degrees come in contact with each other.  Toilets tanks bring in cold water, your temperature indoors is much warmer.  When these two meet, condensation occurs.  Turning down the heat so that the house is just as cold as the water that enters the toilet tanks could be a solution, not likely.  Rigging up something to where your toilet water is mixed with warm water can cause the toilet to crack.  Therefore what do you do;Nada.

I have seen where the toilet tank is drained and allowed to dry. Then rigid foam is applied to the inside of the tank with adhesive. Stops the tank from getting cold.

Although this was asked quite awhile ago a solution is to get a kit that basically adds a bit of warm water into the tank. The water being warmer does not cause as much condensation to form.

Warm bathroom and cold water coming into the toilet will form condensation around the base...learned this yesterday when I called my plumber.  Not really a problem unless it's a crack in the toilet and not actually condensation.
