What you paid for the home has nothing to do with what people will offer. What if you over paid for the home? The market sets the price not you.

Real estate always goes up.
These buyers keep offering less than what I paid. This is wrong! Can't you see that?
How would you like it if I offered you less for your house than what you paid for it?

Your wrong!! Real Estate doesn't always go up. It doesn't matter what you paid for the home. It's what buyers are willing to pay for the home which will set the market. What if your home was a foreclosure and the bank gave you a real good deal. Does this set the value?? No, it doesn't because the home was sold under the value of what it's worth. What if you overpaid for the home? Do you think a buyer is going to give you more than what the home is worth? No. Nobody controls the market. Your home is worth what people are willing to pay for it. If you can't understand this don't expect your home to sell.

No, you're wrong!
My home is not in foreclosure, therefore it is worth more than what I paid for it. Buyers are just too stupid to realize that.
It's because of these buyers not giving me at least what I paid for my home that is causing my wife and I to have to rent the house to someone, but, that doesn't even cover the mortgage payment. And now we have to live in my mothers basement, and I'm getting sick of that.
My mother also has to sell her building in brooklyn to help with the payments on this house. Is that fair? No! I'm sick of buyers not at least offering what someone paid for their house. So damn greedy! My and my wife's life is on hold and it's crap until these buyers wake up and realize that they can't get a house for less than what someone paid. When will they grow up?
you better hurry and sell now for whatever you can get! this crash is only starting, 840K will really hurt if prices drop 30 to 40%!!!

shenanigans on this post.
"So stop low balling, and make a fair offer, it has to be more than I paid for it."
I'd rip into this a thousand different ways assuming I felt this was an honest post and not the wet dreams of an anti-bubble head.

This MUST BE a joke, no one is THAT clueless ...

You doomers are so clueless.
We're entitled to at least a small profit on the sale of the house. You should have bought in the last few years, then you too would be deserving of a profit. This is why I'm glad the federal government will be spending some money where it belongs, with land owners, and keep you bitter renters priced out forever! So laugh now, I win in the end.

Oh, and I can afford the house we bought.
We just rented the house to someone who's paying 40% of our mortgage, while we live in my moms basement. Plus after emptying our 401K's and getting my mom's social security check we've been able to cover all the costs. See doomers, I won't lose the house to foreclosure or have to sell at a loss, I win!

You're right. I'm rasing the price of my home by $100K because I'm entitled to it. That'll teach everybody for not buying yesterday.

Unfortunately, Due to the declining market in most areas, Should a Buyer come along and offer what you paid for the home there is no guarantee the the home will appraise for your original purchase price. Most Buyers will walk away from a sale if the home does not appraise.
If you have had offers, I would say you are in the minority. There are record numbers of homes on the market in most cities that are not getting shown regularly let alone getting offers.

"Stop thinking only of yourselves, and think of others for a change!"
My money has nothing to do with your situation. If you wernt so stupid to pay 840k for a house, you probley wouldnt have to sell it like you are now. I work hard for my money, and I'm certainly not thinking about the stupid buyers who overpaid.
Good luck selling your POS house.

I'm looking to buy property and I'll tell you something I cannot afford your price. If you bought your house for 840k that's your fault not ours. I don't consider myself greedy I consider myself wise because I refuse to pay for overprice homes . I'm not like the people who bought homes between 2001 & 2006. It was sooo ridiculous how homebuyers were buying back then like if money was growing on trees. Face reality. WE CANNOT AFFORD YOUR PRICE!!!

Ira, you're hilarious! I had to read your post twice before I figured out you are spoofing the many, very real nitwit sellers out there who do actually think that way. (I've seen "legitimate" posts that come close saying to what Ira posted.)
Keep posting Ira!

You guys think this is a joke? The guy who I bought the house from made almost $600K!!! And only in the matter of 8 years !!
That's nearly $100K per year! Why does he get to make that kind of money, but not me?? It's not fair!
I should really be able to get over $1.1M now, but, the buyers have become too stupid to realize a deal. Now I'm offering the house for the price I bought it, a really great deal and no one even comes to my open houses.
There are far too many greedy Americans. If you guys weren't so greedy, my house and others would sell for at least what we paid (really it should be about 20% more per year owned), and we wouldn't have a housing slump. If all you greedy people just bought, and everyone just bought then prices could keep going up, and America would become a great prosperous nation again.
You guys just don't realize the hardship you cause when you don't buy the house for what it's worth. My mom's house isn't big, living in her basement is not comfortable for my wife and I, but, we have to do that because our tenant who's covering 40% of the mortgage does not want us to live in the basement of my house. And when I tried to raise the rent on him, that prick threatened to leave, I had to actually drop the price of rent by $50/month in order to keep him there. In the end though, I'm going to win this war!!! The federal government is still going to do something to help us well deserving hard working homeowners, and then when I'm able to sell at the proper profit I deserve, I will be laughing at all of you.

Why don't buyers at least offer what I paid for the house
Buyers, stop being greedy. My wife and I would like to move, but, we paid $840K. We can't move until you offer at least that much. Stop thinking only of yourselves, and think of others for a change!
My wife and I might have to move in with my Mom because we have a tennant who's going to rent the house. But, his rent only covers 40% of the mortgage, and that's it. I still have to pay for maintenance and taxes. Is this fair?
So stop low balling, and make a fair offer, it has to be more than I paid for it. Real Estate is only supposed to go up.
