1) Since you have claimed your house, have you checked the list of comparables zillow selected? You might be able to manipulate that list. Or the list might help explain.
2) The last sold price, being so long ago, is probably pulling the calculations down some.
3) The zestimate is computer generated from a series of algorithms that try to cover most of the housing markets in the country. Sometimes it is right on (mine is), sometimes it is high, sometimes low. By adding your own estimate, you have notified anyone looking that you do not agree with the zestimate....that there is more going on than a computer program can include.
4) If you are really worried, contact a few local agents who know your area and ask them if they charge anything for a cma - an estimate of probable market value derived from comparing your house to others that have sold recently nearby.
Don't get too hung up on the zestimate. Until computers start making house calls, computer generated estimates are going to be wags.
