Agreed. The info on public records may not be completely accurate. This is why Zillow and other online valuation sites are not as reliable as an appraisal where someone can physically inspect the property and list it correctly.
You can update Zillow with your information so that it's more accurate as the above poster mentioned.

The info comes largely form local recorders and assessors offices in the public record. You can read more about the Zestimate and where it comes from here. As the owner you can make the facts and Zestimate more accurate and take control of your own house information. You can claim your house and edit your home facts. Zillow has a video so you can see how to do that here. It is fast and easy to do. The change in your house information is immediate, but if your home facts change your Zestimate that takes a few updates to show a change. I think mine took about two weeks. Hope the links help


Why is my home listed as 3 bedroom when it has 4. I can have 4 bedrooms each with it's own closets.
