Why is my zestimate so low? Why did it go down after I updated the info?

I put many updates into the house and my zestimate went down 6.9%. The zestimate is almost $40,000 LESS than what I paid for the house three years ago! Why?

This happened to me too the day after I claimed/updated! Lower than the houses around me with less beds and baths!  Their house values didn't go down, just mine.  Seems strange.

Like Surbiton stated, it takes from a few weeks to a few months for the update effects on a property's Zestimate.

Well the good news is that you only just claimed your home and edited the facts. It takes zillows steam powered computer up to 8 weeks to process that information so the fall in zestimate is attributable to other issues rather than the facts you input. The answer is probably that Zillow is incorrect as it is notorious for poor data integrity and admits to a 9.4% error rate. Hope that helps.
