@Gary
you make some good points and despite Pasadenan's attempts to justify otherwise, you need to accept that Zillows concept of Customer Service is not the best example of how CS should be carried out by a Nasdaq listed company.
Expecting people to post their issues on this forum and then be subjected to hostile attacks because they have a different opinion is not customer service, but more akin to the Roman Coliseum when the Christians were thrown to the lions.

"perhaps you are a stockholder???" -
Nope; I'm holding out on buying any stock as I'm not fond of an advertisement revenue model, and there are some programming changes that I think need to be made to make the site more functional. But I do think their stock is worth somewhere between $20 and $22 per share, so I have been considering buying, or at least letting my broker know that I want to buy at that price point.
"We only have 300... BS responses" ---
A couple years ago I was posting 100 employees; and it was clear at that time they were growing faster than the counts from the posted information. Still the Zillow blogs have made it fairly clear that they were just under 300 last summer and were looking to hire 16 more. And I did count all the faces in their 5-year anniversary photo, which still shows on their "about us" link at the bottom of the page (under the "management team" sub-link in the left margin).

But I completely agree with Dunes; trash the telemarketers, and replace them with more programmers and more customer service people.

Pasa with the they only have X employees crud again... he's been posting that excuse for years now lol..
Suggestions for having more customer service people..better service
Dump some Boiler Room Phone Sales people, Marketing Nit Wits, Thinkers thinking up Dumb A$$ improvements (until you expand/improve the Service) and actually doing some of the stuff they say they do instead of the same ol "Priorities" "We Listen" "We only have 300" BS responses currently given day after day, year after year..

Hi Gary,
I wish I could tell you why. I've found this to be true as well. [promotion and contact information removed by Zillow moderator]

Pasadenan...you may not be an employee (perhaps you are a stockholder???). If Zillow has only 300 employees this explains A LOT. As you aptly point out, the service is free and you get what you pay for, obviously.....

By the way, Zillow only has about 300 employees, for about 300 MILLION web pages, and about 25 MILLION unique I.P. address users, and about 4.7 MILLION "registered users", and they only stopped running the company in the red and only started to make a very small profit about 6 months ago...
So, if you don't think their customer service is good enough, perhaps you can suggest to them how they might be able to afford more customer service?
But saying their customer service is "non existent" is like saying your 5 investment properties and your home are "non existent".

Zillow has excellent customer service, and no one that posted on this thread works for Zillow nor is a Real Estate agent..., just average people like you interested in our own properties and investments, and finding reasonable data without having to pay for it.
There are at least 20 other websites that provide similar data (some charge money though), so if you don't like what you find here, you can go elsewhere.
And for your own properties, you can claim them and make the corrections yourself, except for the sold amount and date, and the tax assessed value and tax amount... for those, Zillow staff need to do the corrections.
For Zillow customer service:
send Customer Service an email
or Contact the Customer Service Supervisor directly:
Russ Hatfield (click his "contact me" button under his photo on his profile page; it works for all Zillow employees, and for anyone that accepts/wants contact, including you, since you did not "opt out" of the contact. It doesn't work for me since I opted out of the contact, but I read the board fairly frequently so I can be contacted just by posting).
or phone:
(877)661-3170
Now, if you know how to contact Google to get them to stop Robo-Calling my business with recorded messages multiple times per week, that would be some "customer service" that I would appreciate. I like what Google offers on their search engines, but I HATE their privacy policy and their abuse of my phone lines, and the difficulty finding any method of getting their abuses to stop.

One really has to search for the "report a problem with this listing" Zillow should have a button that is front and center if they cared a whit about accuracy. I have five investment homes as well as I my own personal residence and each is woefully incorrect in a many areas. Zillow's customer service is non-existent. Good thing they have a PR department and willing number of real estate agents who enable this charade.

Well now you know some of the Reasons the Data is so out-of-date and inaccurate..
Me ..I never cared why just that it was

Because this is not a county records website, and all the "public records" data has to be "paid for" by Zillow to 3rd party data collection companies that specialize in the collection of that data.
If you find incorrect county records data, use the "report a problem" button under the edit pull down tab on the home details page so that it can be researched and corrected.
Nor is it a "Multiple Listings" (MLS) website
And for listings, it is because the "listing agents" that post the listings don't manage their listings correctly and "want" outdated information on their past listings posted in hundreds of places on the internet to get "contacts" for possible future business. If you find an incorrect or outdated listing, use the "report a problem with listing" button near the bottom of the home details page.

The more data, better accuracy, just like in appraisals.
