Why would a house be on the market to sell and list that there is not C of O? Does that make sense?

THANK YOU Kathy!!!  Actually it is an old home so I am not sure as to why there isn't one yet.  We will go see the house next week and will decided how to go forward from there?  Shouldn't the agency who is selling the home know already as to why there is no C of O?  Do they have to tell us if they know?

THANK YOU for your help!!

Sposabella, most likely the buklier skipped this step.  So the city inspections have nto ben finalled out. Therfore you need to examine any inpsections that were compete and find out what has to be done list wise and money wise to complete the home safely. I had one family move into a home they bought for slae by onwer and when they sold it founcd out the gas line was instaled wrong and had to spend $13,000 on correcting the septic field in winter. I am glad you found this out before you invested money.  I'd try to work with the building depratment right away.  Let us know what you choose.
