Wildly varying quotes for title insurance

My mortgage broker quoted me like $1750. Then I got a quote from www.EntitleDirect.com for only $1150. Will the broker and/or the lender have a problem with me insisting to get it through entitledirect so that i can save $600?

The cost of title insurance is highly regulated.  A discrepancy of $600 seems fishy and not really on the part of your lender, but the online quote.
Show the quote to your lender and ask why they can't match it.

The policy is for them, not you, and so it is their decision. It is part of the cost of borrowing from the lender that you've chosen.

Entitle does not have closers that work for them.  You will have to pay extra for a signing service.  Get a full quote and also shop around to at least three other providers.  Always ask for a quote that includes all services you will need to close.

Depends on whether it's lender's title insurance or owner's title insurance. You can buy owner's title insurance from any company you like . . . or even (though I wouldn't recommend it) not buy it at all. If you're talking about lender's title insurance, check with your Realtor.
