Will repairing termite damage really help?

We are going to repair the termite damage. But will that make the home sell? It still needs to be updated and we have NO money to do so. Time is ticking away since listing the home. We have had a lot of traffic but only two very low offers.

Elflauta .. You may not have money for updating but you have elbow grease.  Put a fresh coat of paint on walls and molding in high traffic areas. Then clean, clean, and did I say clean the home. Then go outside and mow, trim and edge everything in sight.

Doing this will help the buyers feel better about the home and have a better chance of seeing it in their mind updated their way.

And the next time you have a positive showing ask your agent to prepare an offer that answers any questions or objections their agent had given your agent through feedback and send it to them.  Show them you are serious about selling the home.

Best of luck .. Bruce

Yes.  Most lenders require a termite clearance letter.  You don't want to accept an offer and get almost to the closing table and then have to deal with this issue.

I personally think it will help tremendously.  You wouldn't want to buy a home that was infected or structurally unsound in some parts.
