Yard work is like working out!

Profile picture for DownHomeRealtor
I h.a.t.e. yard work and pulling weeds out my flowerbed is like pulling hair. I realized I cannot continue to look across the street and up the street at my neighbors and think, well they must have a lot of time on their hands or they have a lucky yard, one that obeys. I had an Ah hah moment, as Oprah would say. I am going to schedule my yard work just like I do everything else especially working out. I have decided that twice a week, possibly Wed and Sun or Tues and Thursday (get the point) I will spend 30 minutes in my yard doing what ever needs to be done. Watering, pulling weeds, trimming hedges, straightening the mailbox, weed and feed, whatever and I should see my yellow grass turn some sort of green and my flower smiling. I still do not quite understand how some of my neighbors do not spend 30 minutes a month and their yard looks better than mine. Maybe they go out at midnight or early early to do it but I doubt it. Just like working out even a few minutes a week will make a big difference. Try it! I am. Confession: I am still going to let my yard guy mow.,;-) for now. He should have said something about the condition of my grass and I will deal with him later (my husband). lol
