I find it kind of odd that you don't even have to be the claimant of the home or listing for this feature to be available. As long as the house is listed in some way, whether for sale, for rent, or even a MMM, anyone can come along and post it on craigslist. Granted the ad can't be edited after it's there, but the contact info through craigslist is controlled by the person who posts the ad.

Rockinblu - When I was first going through this product with the team, I had the same concern. But in thinking more through it - there really isn't anything today (except morals!) that prevents someone from taking real estate data and posting it there today. The agent's info is embedded into the code, so at least that is a safe guard.

Hi Sara,
Thanks for your response. You might be right, but I still think there could be a can of worms somewhere, without the small safeguard that it is, of a requirement to be the claimant of the property/listing to have access to this feature. Hopefully, I'm wrong.
I also found that in posting the ad for my son that instead of the Zillow ad appearing, a Postlets ad came up instead. Unfortunately, this doesn't show all the photos that the Zillow ad does.

I hear ya.
Postlets is powering the technology. I believe that the photo count thing is the difference between having a regular Postlet and a Postlet Pro account. But good feedback, and I suspect they'll be more to come in that area.

well there is one advantage of the issue of posting someone elses...
HUD houses can be advertised by anyone. and since the posting copies the zillow page for the listing and doesn't plaster info about the person posting it (just the contact email ). it helps get more exposure to those listings if people decide to do it.
now..I don't see the value in spending the time to seek out HUD listings that you want to do just to put them on craigslist. craigslist results in more scam calls anyway. but it is a silver lining for the known issue.
I hope it's not a can of worms...but i suppose only time will tell. I'd be ok with someone else advertising my listings - since it shows the listing info and not stuff they created. esp if they get all the junk craigslist calls to filter through and find a real buyer.

I find it very convenient to cut & paste from Zillow to Craig's List, rather than going to Craig's List and having to manually type everything in and add the pictures. Thanks to the Zillow team!!

Good info! As long as the listing agent is tied to the add it should be fine.

Postlets are easy to use and help agents make their listings look "pretty" when advertising a listing. It really is great that Zillow makes it so easy to post from Zillow to Craigslist.
I often wonder what works better, to have a simple post on craigslist that will get enough attention of the consumer he or she will go directly to the website assoicated with the ad or does the postlet full of pictures and awesome decriptions work better.
It seems to me that if the consumer sees enough from the postlet to decide they don't like the listing they would simply move on. You would loose that contact completely and the pretty postlet did nothing for you.
Just wondering if there are any thoughts on this?

Good to know. I was using a more diffucult means of posting to Craigslist. I will give this a try as it seems easier and I do get good results with Craigslist!

Now you can just go from Postlets to Craigs List though. No fumbling through. However, most of my buyers come through the MLS with agents and those buyers , in many cases, see the homes on one of three search engines.....rarely Craigs List,

I agree with most of everyones comments. My lender is now helping me spread the word about my listings by using epropertysites.com -it's a set above postlets. Have any of you used it yet?

I see a lot of eproperty site listings on Zillow. Most of them are expired or already sold and are never removed.
Are they difficult to track for agents? It seems like they are one of the sites that are set it and forget it that lead to consumer frustration about stale or off the market listings on Zillow.

This post may have been started a few months back, but I think it is good to keep it current! This feature is a plus to using Zillow which is used as a major part of my marketing tools. I look forward to the next thing Zillow rolls out!

In our Area, Santa Clarita, I think it's important to, specifically, ask your client's permission to post on Craigslist. In my experience, many clients do not like to be marketed on Craigslist. But, if clients are good to go, it is another value added benefit.

I wouldn't be surprised if this is illegal. You need a listing agreement to list someone else's home for sale.
