I had that issue too so i have a suggestion that worked for me. Try logging into Zillow and changing your email preferences under the "My Zillow" tab at the top of this page under the "Account settings" link. Then go to "Subscriptions" on the left side and uncheck all the boxes. I am not big on email in my inbox either, but I unchecked and now I get no mail from Zillow.
Also, check to make sure that you have cancelled the email alerts for any of your claimed or favorite houses. Sometimes the email I got was linked to a specific house. When I went to my favorites list, I found I had check the box for email updates without even knowing that. Now I reset it, I get no more emails. Hope it helps.

Not only do Zillow's estimating methods (if they really have any) fall way short of any reasonable mark, I have found it to be impossible to get myself "unsubscribed" from their weekly emails that say how much my property value is decreasing month-over-month. I finally hired an appraiser to confirm just how very wrong they were. But I still can't seem to get unsubcribed. There does not seem to be any real way to get in touch with any human being at the company other than this blog - and who knows who sees or monitors it. I guess the Better Business Bureau is my next stop.

A SERIOUS buyer that wants a home on a lake will not put alot of weight into online values.
I find that many home do not have an evaluation for the LAND value once you strip off the house.
Agents and Appraisers do NOT use price per sq foot as a means of determining value. You can have the same size house on lots that are very different in values.
I have seen lakefront lots anywhere from 80,000 to 600,000! so how can the same 3000 sq foot home be worth the same money?
Extract the land value from the house, find like kind lots in and around your lake.
You also MUST compare apples to apples. Is the other home the same size? same upgrades? beds and baths? boat house? lift? all these things add to the reason a homes sells for a certain price. If your home doesnot have those upgrades, they would need to be subtracted from your value.
That is why you cannot paint with a broad brush "price per sq foot"
Go in an amend your property information,my seller did and it helped.
Remember that a serious buyer, with a skilled agent representing them ,will educate them to the true value.
Do not go off any on line sites.
I have never sold a home even close to an online estimate...they were always higher.
Good luck

Your estimating methods suck
