Zillow's QA sucks. Get your decimal points right!

Zillow's QA sucks.  Home posted as sold at $129K when it was 1.29M, lot sizes of 3000 acres not .3 of an acre.  I found at least 5 listings where the lot size was incorrect in a 5 minute search of homes in my town.  They're losing credibility if they keep this up.

You refer to Zillow's QA, which I assume refers to Quality Assurance?  If that is the case, I do not think it exists, at least not in respect to verifying data.  But look, it took decades for the MLS's to get some degree of reliability established in their statistics.  Even the title companies and  government records are still loaded with errors. You cannot expect a baby like Zillow to reach perfection in a couple years.

I do sometimes get a little frustrated with prospects who come to me thinking they are experts because they picked a little data which may or may not be correct off of Zillow or other sites that are even worse, like RealtyTrac or Foreclosure.com.

Bottom line, though, is that these sites are where the prospects are going, so we have to work with them to stay in business.

What do you want for free ? I pay $$$ for similar data which at times is incorrect. PS..its garbage in, garbage out...And Zillow is not perfect especially for the price you are paying for it. Zillow's computers dont say - hey lets make mistakes ! If you dont like it try trulia.com or others and report back.
