Zillow Discussions - You can Now Upload Images!

I wanted to give a heads up to everyone that you can now upload images to Zillow Discussions. We think this is particularly relevant for the home improvement section so that people can upload images of remodel projects they have done and get feedback, or upload photos of rooms they wish to remodel and get ideas from others. Enjoy!

To upload an image, just click the "Insert Image" button (it's the 3rd icon from the far right of the toolbar)

Hey Drew,

A bunch of us were commenting the other day on how cool this feature is - and we've been using it ever since!

And more thurough discussion searches including "exact phrase", words with symbols/numbers, thread title searches, discussions in a given category, and return all threads that match criterion rather than random & rather than limited to 100.

(Also still want to see more than 25 questions for homes, and want to return all matches to house searches within a zip-code with none returned that are outside the zip-code).

By the way Drew, when I found out that Zillow never deletes ANY photos, and that if you upload a photo to ANY house even if you never "save", the Zillow address for the uploaded photo can be copied, and pasted in to the discussion threads for reference.  Thus, Zillow Discussions have ALWAYS had photo capability, even before adding the "links".  Only it used to be no one could see the photos without the links, and we couldn't have fancy names on the links.

I don't think we gained a whole lot; and I'm hoping the photos don't get overused due to transfer time on dialup.

But again, I'm wondering why Zillow has decided that photos should remain forever, even if there are no links to them.

Now if only zillow would allow us to use full HTML (or more then now) features without having them almost locked off. Like having an actual HTML compliant window for people to put in tables if we wanted to show a chart or something...

nice to see inline pics though!

Yes, tables would be nice; the last one I posted didn't line up too well, and I had to divide it in parts due to the post length limit.

But do we really need all the font types and font colors and font sizes and background colors and background images?  It seems to take long enough to format as it is.

pasadenan-

We can purge photos if there are photos we need permanently removed -- but if there are no links to a photo, there's a pretty slim chance anyone is going to see them.

Drew -

Just for an "example", here are two references to Zillow photos that the original posters (owners) REQUESTED to be removed, that are still floating around.

http://images.zillow.com/is/image/i0/i0/i328/ISyxhrl9jyszvn.jpg

http://images.zillow.com/is/image/i0/i0/i294/ISz4t7osuk2203.jpg?size=1200,1200

Since you state you "can" purge" them, and they did ask, why don't you purge these for them?

Thanks.

(The chances of someone seeing them are higher if someone bookmarked the address, or if they copied the address to post later, or in my case, copied the address to see if Zillow actually bothered to delete them eventually).
