I've had 4 good closings with zillow generated contacts and I didn't start advertising here until last december. good results in my book. I pay for zip code placement- well worth it.

Connie, the title says, "Zillow Leads Cost Me a Sale This Past Year." That sounds to me like you "lost" a lead, not that you obtained a lead from Zillow and closed on it? Do you like Zillow as a lead generation source or not? I've just joined and so far it seems pretty good compared to most lead generation sources.

I'm baffled by the difference in the title and the post.

Definitely agree that the title is misleading and confusing.

As the people above said the title of this post should be "Zillow.com leads earned a sale for me...."
Zillow.com has proven more effective for me that Realtor.com by far. You get plenty of spam and buyers that won't provide phone numbers, but overall the quality of the leads is superior to Realtor.com.

I'm guessing the title is to draw attention, but the content is really beneficial to Zillow. It's nice to see someone having praise for the program here. It might be a good idea to change the title, though. There are already lots of complaints... a title with praise might draw more attention.

I'm having trouble with the Zillow leads system. For some reason it sends leads to my office's leads service rather than directly to me. Does anyone know how to ensure that leads are directly coming to my email or cell phone?

Clay -- I know your note is older yet the answer is to manually enter your lsiting to make it show your information. I had the same problem.

June, The title makes it seems like you had something bad to say.
Great to hear zillow is working for you.

Money gets tight and we don't want to part with it up front. I have heard positive and negative about Zillow, Trulia, Realtor.com etc. I have tried the latter two and it cost me a lot of money but have just a profile here on Zillow. I have never been contacted or emailed by a Trulia or Realtor.com client saying hey I found you on such and such and want more info. I have however had emails from Zillow and this year and one lead paid off! This was also due to the fact the listing agent did not reply to his email and he had some questions. So he emailed another agent and I followed up. Thank you Zillow for allowing me to have a free profile and a lead that gave me a paycheck. I am hearing much better news on Zillow. I am seriously thinking about trying you out.
