Zillow: how does my home "value" go down and next door neighbors goes up by a wide margin??

Profile picture for housedoor321
Some homes on my street go down a few to several thousand while others next door or two houses away go up a few to several thousand, doesn't make sense at all. The neighbors are not making any big additions, etc. ... Your values are all over the place in my neighborhood.  Please respond to l_keebler@yahoo.com.  Thank you.

Claim your home on here and update your info. You should get a more accurate zestimate after that.

@housedoor321

Your observation is pretty common. Basically Zillow has a flawed algorithm and lousy data integrity which leads to numerous erroneous valuations just like you describe. What is worse is that Zillow refuse to accept any input from homeowners who question such anomalies and I find it hard to understand what, if any reason they have to be so stubborn. Why wouldn't they want their database to have accurate valuations? instead they have millions of incorrect valuations and just cause chaos and confusion in the homes marketplace. Maybe they just attract more users when there is controversy, and therefore higher Ads revenue.
