Zillow pulls FSBOs from Redfin, other sites

Profile picture for Tug of War
"Redfin announced today that their site will no longer feature homes for sale by owner (FSBO), beginning Thursday, as Zillow will no longer be sending FSBO and other manually posted listings to be displayed on their site. Redfin is not alone, as this impacts any real estate brokerage, website or service that is featuring listings through Zillow’s Postings API. In a statement to AGBeat, Zillow representatives said, “We are discontinuing the Postings API from all sites. This includes manually-posted listings for homes for sale by owner, homes for sale by agent, homes for rent and Make Me Move homes. Zillow continues to offer many other useful APIs such as Zestimate home values, demographics and mortgage rates.”" http://agbeat.com/cities/seattle/zillow-ends-listings-api-pulls-fsbos-from-redfin-other-sites/

Thank you for the notification on the change of Zillow's API's and API policy. That is good information. I hadn't seen it posted on Zillow yet, though you would expect it to be posted on both their API information page as well as on the Zillow blog.

Wow! this is a first time that I make a correct guess. http://www.zillow.com/advice-thread/Surbitons-campaign-the-second-affecting-Zillow-discontinues-the-Posting-API/430899/ From: http://agbeat.com/cities/seattle/zillow-ends-listings-api-pulls-fsbos-from-redfin-other-sites/ UPDATE: a Zillow spokesperson has informed AGBeat that the reason the Listings API program has ended is “because it is our least-used API.” To prevent Zillow from discontinue on the other APIs, should I spam on Zillow more often?

The cost of upkeep must be more than it's worth.  FSBO listers don't seem to be interested in responding to purchase requests and their homes are generally listed at a premium over others.
