If there is an error in the record of purchase on Zillow, you can flag the transaction so they can investigate with county records.  (To flag, open the home details page and scroll down to the price history table - see insert screen shot).     Sometimes the country records have errors, so it may be prudent to check them yourself first before flagging.  Usually they are online.
