Zoning Variance Resolution?

Did the zoning variance issue for the neighbor's deck get resolved?
The property setback is supposed to be 10ft off the side property lines, yet the deck was built 6" from the property line?  No survey was done?
I thought the variance was denied over 2 years ago; so why is the deck still there?

What was the legal resolution?  Since it is not a "building structure", maybe it is not an encroachment on the setback?

May be an uber-local question, you might try calling your local planning department...

Never got an answer to this question...

Is it just that agents in that area don't care?  Or maybe they are not on Zillow?  Or maybe they don't go to the Zoning Hearing Officer meetings?
