Start with your local HUD sponsored housing consulting non-profit. Don't buy into any credit fixing schemes. The non-profit will have financial fitness classes and they do classes for first time homebuyers that will get you started in the right direction. Best to you!

Also, go to www.myfico.com and learn about fixing your credit yourself. They have a wonderful community of people who will tell you what they have done, what worked and what didn't, to fix credit issues. Nothing about credit is simple, but many, many people there have raised their credit scores by 100+ points in sometimes as little as 90 days. Good luck, I've been educating myself and working on ours.

There a many companies out there that help with the situation and will guide you through it. Just be careful and do your homework as there are also alot of companies that like to take advantage of people in this situation. So make sure you are working with the right ones.
bad credit
