Normally yes, you inspect and determine if it is worth the trouble.  Auction of a foreclosed home you will
not see/inspect the inside.

Foreclosed homes that are on the market only have open houses when the listing agent arranges to have one.  They are rare.

Our company has many foreclosed (REO) properties for sale at any one time.   I am not usually the listing agent but if it is a nice one I do hold an open house for 3 hours after advertising it for a week on the sign.

About half have sold from the open houses.

Normally you will have an opportunity to schedule an inspection regardless if it is a foreclosure or not. If you haven't been inside yet work with an agent and schedule a showing to see the inside. If you do make an offer make sure your contract has the inspection verbiage built in to protect you.
