If you need an appraisal, you need to hire an appraiser. For loans, a lender will generally order an appraisal from an approved company or list. If you need one for other purposes you can ask a local lender for a referral or find an inspection through the phone book or an organization like ASHI.

If you need an appraisal for a refinance, you should check with your lender to have this ordered. If you need an appraisal just for your own personal information, you can contact any of our local appraisers and set this up. Most appraisals run in the $250-$350 range but this does vary by type of property.
