The short answer is no. The city or county zoning will give you some idea aabout what is allowed. The footprint and height of the structure, the planned use for the structure, and consideration for setbacks will all affect what you can do. By permitting the structure you are to build, you will be adding extra value to your property instead of creating a potential liability.
