n many mobile devices and cameras, there is a sensor to determine photo orientation.  For photos taken with these devices, there is a JPEG EXIF Orientation Tag that indicates which way is up.  Most websites and software ignore this tag, and don't have a way to read it or process it.  If you rotate the image on many systems, the tag is "lost".  But then your image may still be wrong orientation.

If in Windows, rotate so that it is wrong, then rotate again so that it is right again.  If a different system, whatever photo software you have, rotate so that it is wrong, save and close (to drop the orientation tag).  Open again, rotate so that it right again, and save again.

Then you should be able to upload it to sites like Zillow with no problems.

Zillow has been aware of this issue for well over a year, and is still searching for a good solution.  We all are hoping they will buy some kind of package to solve the problem of reading and processing the JPEG EXIF Orientation Tag soon!  One possibility may be
